Washington, July 15 (Hibya) - The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) announced the launch of a new air operation aimed at degrading Iran's military capabilities used in attacks against commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz.

In a statement, CENTCOM said: "Today at 06:00 Eastern Time, U.S. Central Command forces initiated a series of strikes against Iran."
The statement added that the strikes are intended to further degrade the military capabilities used by Iranian forces in attacks against commercial maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz.
