Dutch support for Lebanon–Israel talks: Diplomacy is the only path to a lasting solution
Amsterdam, June 2 (Hibya) - Dutch Foreign Minister Tom Berendsen welcomed the U.S.-mediated talks between Lebanon and Israel and called on the parties to refrain from escalating military tensions.
Dutch Foreign Minister Berendsen commented on the talks held between Lebanon and Israel under the leadership of the United States.
Berendsen described the fact that the two countries met again today as “good news,” emphasizing that diplomatic negotiations are the only way to achieve a lasting solution between Israel and Hezbollah, as well as for the wider region.
The statement noted that the Netherlands has called on all parties not to increase military tensions and supports advancing the process through diplomacy. Berendsen stressed that stability in the region can only be achieved through negotiation and dialogue.
