Emphasis on high-level engagement for Pakistan-UK relations
Islamabad, August 14 (Hibya) - Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar met with British High Commissioner to Pakistan Jane Marriott. The meeting covered bilateral relations, regional and international developments, and the implementation of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding.

According to a statement by Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dar expressed satisfaction with the positive momentum in Pakistan-UK relations.
Dar recalled his recent meeting with British Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband on the sidelines of the ASEAN Regional Forum in Manila and highlighted the importance of maintaining high-level contacts.
The meeting discussed issues of mutual interest, the development of bilateral cooperation, and regional and international developments.
Dar said the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding should be implemented by the parties “in letter and spirit,” stressing that dialogue and diplomacy are the only way forward in resolving existing issues.
British High Commissioner to Pakistan Jane Marriott, meanwhile, conveyed her best wishes to Dar on the occasion of Pakistan's Independence Day.
