Gold prices fell by 2.27 percent to 4,703.70, while the decline in silver was steeper at 5.34 percent, with the price dropping to 72.013. Copper also retreated by 1.20 percent to 5.5503.

On the energy side, gains stood out. Crude oil (WTI) rose by 4.77 percent to 104.90, while Brent crude gained 5.76 percent to reach 106.99. Natural gas prices increased by 1.99 percent to 2.869.

Heating oil prices saw a strong rise of 8.27 percent, while RBOB gasoline also posted a 4.76 percent increase.

Limited gains were also notable in agricultural commodities. U.S. soybean prices rose by 0.49 percent, while wheat prices increased by 1.10 percent.
