EU signals visa restrictions for Russian tourists
Brussels, September 2 (Hibya) - At a meeting of European Union (EU) foreign ministers, support was expressed for an EU visa entry ban on Russian former combatants and tighter visa restrictions on Russian tourists.
Speaking after the meeting of EU foreign ministers, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas said there was broad support for an EU entry ban on Russian former combatants and for imposing stricter visa restrictions on Russian tourists.
Kallas said Russia had carried out attacks targeting civilians throughout the summer, adding that under these circumstances it was not appropriate for Russian citizens to enter European countries and continue engaging in tourism.
