Foreign Ministers of Pakistan and Egypt held a phone call
Islamabad, May 17 (Hibya) - Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar held a phone conversation with Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty.
According to a statement made by the official account of the Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar held a phone conversation with Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty.
During the conversation, the changing regional situation was discussed, while the Egyptian side appreciated Pakistan’s efforts toward regional peace and stability. The parties also evaluated issues related to the regional consultation platform involving the foreign ministers of Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, and Egypt.
The statement noted that developments within the framework of the United Nations Security Council and multilateral diplomatic processes were also discussed. It was stated that Egyptian Foreign Minister Abdelatty appreciated Pakistan’s humanitarian contributions in facilitating the return, via Singapore, of 20 Iranian and 11 Pakistani sailors who were on ships seized by the United States.
It was noted that the parties agreed to remain in close contact regarding regional and international developments and that Egypt extended an invitation for bilateral consultations.
