Guterres: Africa must be at the center of ocean actions
New York, June 9 (Hibya) – United Nations (UN) Secretary-General António Guterres stated that the African continent must be at the center of global actions related to the oceans.
Guterres emphasized that most investments to date have largely excluded Africa and noted that the continent's marine resources are being exploited by other actors.
He stated that unlocking Africa’s full maritime potential requires strong political will and financial support.
