Guterres commemorates UN staff killed in Baghdad attack
New York, August 19 (Hibya) - United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Antonio Guterres commemorated UN personnel who lost their lives 23 years ago in the bombing of the organization's headquarters in Baghdad.
United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said they respectfully commemorate their colleagues who lost their lives in the terrorist attack in Baghdad 23 years ago.
Highlighting the importance of the legacy left by the personnel killed in the attack, Guterres said: “Their legacy lives on in every humanitarian worker and in every act of solidarity with people whose suffering is often invisible and whose voices are often unheard.”
