The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) issued a statement regarding an incident near the Susya settlement in the area of responsibility of the Yehuda Brigade.

The IDF said it launched an investigation following reports of gunfire in the area and concluded that the incident was not a shooting attack.

According to the statement, a violent confrontation broke out between Israeli civilians and Palestinians, during which both sides threw stones at each other.

The statement added that, during the incident, an individual whom the IDF described as a "terrorist" seized a civilian's weapon, after which gunfire was fired into the air in the area.

An Israeli civilian was injured during the stone-throwing incident and was evacuated from the scene for medical treatment.

The IDF said it had launched an operation to apprehend the suspect who seized the weapon, while security forces continue search operations and a security cordon has been imposed around the area.
