Amsterdam, May 11 (Hibya) - Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten met with the island’s first female governor, Alida Francis, and members of the executive council during his visit to St. Eustatius, where they discussed the island’s infrastructure and security challenges.

Sharing his impressions of the meeting with Governor Francis, Jetten said, “It was wonderful to meet Governor Alida Francis, the Kingdom’s first female governor and a lifelong resident of St. Eustatius. In short, she was uniquely qualified to brief me on the situation on the island.”
Referring to the agenda items discussed during the meeting, Jetten said, “Together with the other members of the executive council, we discussed the island’s working relationship with The Hague, security and safety in St. Eustatius, and the challenges the island faces in areas such as infrastructure, climate action, and waste management.”
