Kirilov attended the Conference on Ageing and Long-Term Care in Copenhagen
Sofia, October 29 (Hibya) - Bulgarian Minister of Health, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Silvi Kirilov, attended the high-level conference “The Future of Ageing and Long-Term Care,” organized in Copenhagen under Denmark’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
The conference, held at the invitation of the Danish Minister for Elderly Care, brought together ministers of health and social policy to exchange experiences and ideas on the demographic challenges posed by an ageing population and the need to ensure long-term care services.
Minister Kirilov noted that the sessions focused on preventive healthcare, early diagnosis, healthy lifestyle habits, and the importance of the right to independent decision-making, particularly for patients with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. Participants shared experiences regarding needs-based funding models for elderly care, promoting post-retirement employment, and creating inclusive environments for seniors.
The conference also addressed digital literacy improvement and the role of artificial intelligence in care services.
