Lahbib: We cannot wait another 18 years for equality
Brussels, October 19 (Hibya) - European Commissioner for Equality Hadja Lahbib stated that equality is a fundamental right that also strengthens the economy, calling on European Union member states to reach an agreement on the Equal Treatment Directive.

Stressing that another 18 years cannot be spent waiting for equality, Lahbib called on European Union member states to reach an agreement on the Equal Treatment Directive.
Lahbib also presented her second report on progress and implementation in the field of equality at the meeting of the European Union's Employment, Social Policy, Health and Consumer Affairs Council (EPSCO).
