European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen reminded that the ocean is the blue heart of the planet.
She noted that the rhythm of the ocean has been disrupted by pollution and exploitation, saying: "This week we presented the Ocean Pact. Our goal is to shift the current toward lasting protection. On Monday, our goals will take on a global dimension at the UN Ocean Conference."
