Secretary Lutnick emphasized that President Donald Trump has made it clear that “now is the time to build in America.”

He noted that, in partnership with the Department of Commerce, Micron announced a $200 billion semiconductor manufacturing and R&D investment to bring the entire memory chip production chain back to the U.S. “Micron’s planned investment will boost U.S. leadership in AI, automotive, aerospace, and defense,” he said.

Lutnick concluded, “We are doing this on a scale that will secure American technological dominance for decades to come. Micron’s commitment to Idaho, New York, and Virginia is a major win for our economy, national security, and American workers.”
