Macron held a phone call with Saudi Crown Prince Salman
Paris, April 11 (Hibya) - French President Emmanuel Macron discussed with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman the issues of securing a ceasefire in Lebanon and ensuring navigational security in the Strait of Hormuz.
French President Emmanuel Macron held a phone call with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman regarding current developments in the Middle East.
Stating that the focus of the call was regional conflicts, Macron said, “I reiterated my support for the ceasefire to be fully respected and extended to Lebanon without delay.”
Making assessments regarding maritime security and energy routes, Macron said, “We discussed the need for fully free and secure navigation in the Strait of Hormuz to be restored as soon as possible.”
Drawing attention to the continuity of the diplomatic process, Macron noted:
“As the talks in Islamabad have only just begun, we agreed to remain in close contact in order to contribute to de-escalation, freedom of navigation, and the conclusion of an agreement that will ensure lasting peace and security in the region.”
