French President Macron spoke with Sultan of Oman Haitham bin Tariq Al Said.

Thanking Oman for its efforts to find a negotiated solution to the crisis, Macron said: “I conveyed France’s solidarity with the Sultanate in the face of regional tensions.”

Referring to the situation in the Strait of Hormuz, Macron stated: “We discussed the need to restore freedom and security of navigation in a coordinated manner once appropriate conditions are met. The Sultanate’s role will be key in this process.”

Calling for de-escalation, Macron added: “Together with our partners, we will work decisively to reduce tensions. In this context, an immediate and full moratorium on attacks against energy and civilian infrastructure must be implemented.”
