Macron: We thank Omani authorities for mediation efforts
Paris, April 7 (Hibya) - French President Emmanuel Macron announced the release of French citizens Cecile Kohler and Jacques Paris, who had been detained in Iran for three and a half years, thanking all parties involved in the operation.
French President Emmanuel Macron shared his satisfaction over the end of the prolonged detention and provided details about the process.
Noting that the citizens are on their way home, Macron said: "Cecile Kohler and Jacques Paris are now free after three and a half years of detention in Iran and are on their way to France".
Macron added: "This is a great relief for all of us and, of course, for their families".
Emphasizing diplomatic cooperation and public support during the process, Macron concluded: "We thank the Omani authorities for their mediation efforts, as well as state services and citizens who tirelessly mobilized and contributed to their return".
