Officials from the United States (US) Department of Veterans Affairs made statements regarding new clinical trials aimed at treating alcohol addiction and depression among veterans.

US Secretary of Veterans Affairs Doug Collins commented on new trials examining the use of GLP-1 drugs to treat alcohol addiction and psilocybin to treat depression among veterans.

Collins said President Donald Trump had pledged to do whatever is necessary to ensure veterans and the American people can receive the help they need, adding that new treatment options are being explored in line with that commitment.
