Orban: Oil shipments must be restarted immediately
Budapest, February 27 (Hibya) - Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban spoke about Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy’s decision not to resume shipments via the “Druzhba” (Friendship) oil pipeline.
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban addressed the halt of oil shipments coming through Ukraine.
Orban noted that the pipeline is operational but shipments are blocked due to Zelenskiy’s political decision, and he called for the oil flow to be restarted immediately.
Denying Zelenskiy’s claims in Brussels that the pipeline cannot be restarted, Orban said, “We expect the President of Ukraine to fulfill his obligations to the European Union and member states and reactivate the Friendship oil pipeline.”
Orban emphasized that he will continue diplomatic contacts regarding the energy crisis and announced he will consult with Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico to address the issue.
