Palestinian Authority statement on graduation speech in the United States
Ramallah, May 3 (Hibya) – The Palestinian Authority issued a statement regarding the remarks of historian and academic Derek R. Peterson at a graduation ceremony held at the University of Michigan.
The statement recalled that Peterson, a recipient of the MacArthur “Genius Grant,” thanked pro-Palestinian student activists in his speech, saying: “I thank pro-Palestinian student activists for opening our hearts to the injustice and inhumanity of Israel’s war in Gaza.”
The Palestinian Authority stated that these remarks were welcomed.
