Palestinian Foreign Minister Shaheen met with Croatian and Irish counterparts
Brussels, July 15 (Hibya) – Palestinian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Farsin Aghabekian Shaheen met with Croatian Foreign Minister Gordan Grlić Radman and Irish Deputy Foreign Minister Thomas Byrne during the fifth EU–Southern Neighbourhood Ministerial Meeting held in Brussels.
The meeting addressed Israel's attacks on the Palestinian people, the need for their immediate cessation, the intensification of international efforts, and ensuring the sustainable delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.
Shaheen emphasized the importance of supporting efforts to open a political pathway that would lead to an end to the occupation and the establishment of a Palestinian state on the ground.
Croatian Foreign Minister Radman reaffirmed his country’s firm support for justice and the rights of the Palestinian people, and its support for a two-state solution in accordance with international legitimacy. He also emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation on international platforms to achieve justice and stability.
Shaheen later met with Irish Deputy Foreign Minister Thomas Byrne and highlighted Ireland’s determined and supportive stance on human rights and international law, as well as its leading role in defending humanitarian causes and the rights of the Palestinian people on the international stage.
The meeting also covered political and field developments in the occupied Palestinian territories, the escalation of violations and crimes by occupying and settler militias, and the urgent need for a ceasefire and delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.
