Palestinian Foreign Ministry: Ireland's ban on settlement products should serve as an example
Ramallah, July 26 (Hibya) - The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that it welcomes the entry into force of Ireland's law banning products imported from Israeli settlements.
The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed the entry into force of the law banning products imported from settlements established by Israel in the occupied Palestinian territories, following its approval by the President of Ireland.
The ministry said the decision reflects a commitment to international law and the principles of international justice, adding that the ban would help limit economic support for settlement activities.
The statement called on all countries and parliaments to adopt similar measures and stressed the need to strengthen sanctions against economic and commercial activities linked to what it described as illegal settlements.
