Portugal on LGBTI in Türkiye: We are seriously concerned
Lisbon, September 18 (Hibya) - Portugal's Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that a diplomatic initiative had been undertaken toward Türkiye over actions targeting LGBTI+ individuals and organizations since September 12.
Portugal's Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that an initiative had been undertaken with the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding actions targeting LGBTI+ individuals and organizations in Türkiye since September 12.
In a statement, the ministry said that Portugal's Embassy in Ankara had been instructed, together with Belgium and other European countries, to make representations to the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The statement noted that the initiative was carried out to condemn the actions in question and express serious concern about them.
