Portugal’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the High-Level Week of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly concluded with a luncheon attended by member states of the Community of Portuguese Language Countries (CPLP).

In a post, the ministry said the meeting took place at an important time for the CPLP and stated that Portugal supports a united CPLP acting together in defense of democracy, the rule of law and the return to constitutional order.

It was also noted that Portugal supports transforming the CPLP into a more ambitious structure with stronger international influence and strengthening the Lusophone voice at the United Nations.
