Qatar steps up regional diplomatic engagement
Doha, June 27 (Hibya) – Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani discussed regional developments, diplomatic efforts, and security issues during separate telephone conversations with the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia and Egypt.
Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani discussed bilateral relations and regional developments during a telephone conversation with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan.
During the conversation, the two sides discussed diplomatic efforts to strengthen regional security and stability, particularly following the memorandum of understanding signed between the United States and Iran. The Qatari side stressed the importance of avoiding unnecessary tensions, safeguarding the security of navigation, and maintaining the dialogue process.
Al Thani also emphasized the need to ensure freedom of navigation in the Gulf of Oman and the Strait of Hormuz, calling for continued support for diplomacy and negotiations.
In the same context, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani also held a telephone conversation with Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdelatty.
During the conversation, the two sides discussed bilateral relations and regional developments and agreed on strengthening dialogue- and diplomacy-based solution processes.
