Radev: Bulgaria will not take part in military operations in the Middle East
Sofia, July 22 (Hibya) – Bulgarian Prime Minister Rumen Radev said that the allies' request to deploy tanker aircraft at Bezmer Air Base had been submitted to the National Assembly in line with the principle of transparency, adding that the decision would be made by the representatives of the people.
Radev stressed that the tanker aircraft would be used solely for logistical missions and aerial refueling outside Bulgarian airspace, emphasizing that there is absolutely no possibility of conducting any military operation in the Middle East from Bulgarian territory.
Prime Minister Radev also stated that Bulgaria continues to maintain good relations with Iran, called on all parties in the Middle East to reduce tensions, and warned that any potential war could have global consequences.
