Rangel: CPLP is a strategic asset for Portugal and its nine member countries
Lisbon, October 9 (Hibya) - Portuguese Foreign Minister Paulo Rangel, speaking at an event marking the 30th anniversary of the Community of Portuguese Language Countries (CPLP), emphasized the community’s importance for political dialogue, cooperation and strengthening the international standing of the Portuguese language.
Portuguese Foreign Minister Paulo Rangel spoke at the closing of a colloquium held at the Belém Cultural Centre (CCB) in Lisbon to mark the 30th anniversary of the Community of Portuguese Language Countries (CPLP).
Rangel said the CPLP is an important platform for political dialogue and cooperation, adding that the community has strategic value for Portugal and its nine member countries.
Noting that the community brings continents together and contributes to the global spread of the Portuguese language, Rangel said the future of the CPLP would be shaped by strengthening common ground and making use of the diversity among its countries.
