Russell: Progress made in reducing the number of children in forced labor
New York, June 12 (Hibya) – UNICEF Executive Director Catherine Russell stated that the world has made progress in reducing the number of children in forced labor.
Russell noted that, despite the progress, “far too many children continue to work in mines, factories, or fields, often performing dangerous jobs just to survive.”
“We must redouble our efforts to ensure that children are in classrooms and playgrounds, not in workplaces,” she added.
