Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Zakharova made a statement regarding developments in northern Ethiopia.

Zakharova said they were following with concern reports that clashes had resumed between government forces and Tigrayan armed groups in the Tigray, Afar and Amhara regions.

Calling on the parties to observe the ceasefire and adhere to existing settlement agreements, Zakharova also urged all external actors to refrain from attempts to interfere in Ethiopia’s internal affairs.

Zakharova said they believed that preserving Ethiopia’s unity and territorial integrity was the only viable basis for resolving the existing disagreements.
