Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar made a statement regarding the exhibition held at the European Parliament to commemorate the victims of the October 7 attacks.

Saar described European Parliament member Rima Hassan's action toward the exhibition as "shameful and unacceptable." Saar argued that the action showed the level of respect Hassan has for the institution in which she serves.

Saar said he welcomed the swift condemnation of the incident by members of the European Parliament and also thanked European Parliament President Roberta Metsola for her stance and her statements aimed at ensuring that the incident is treated seriously.

Saar said the incident should be addressed "in the strongest possible manner."
