Saidov: We discussed expanding political dialogue and economic cooperation with Algeria
Tashkent, June 11 (Hibya) - Uzbek Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov announced that during his meeting with Algerian Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf, they discussed developing political, economic, and cultural relations between the two countries as well as the latest developments in the Middle East.
Uzbek Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov stated that he held productive talks with Ahmed Attaf in Algeria.
Saidov said, “During our meetings in both restricted and expanded formats, we comprehensively reviewed ways to intensify political dialogue between Uzbekistan and Algeria, expand trade, economic and investment cooperation, and strengthen cultural and humanitarian ties.”
Emphasizing that they view Algeria as an important and promising partner on the African continent, Saidov stated, “There is still significant untapped potential in our bilateral relations. We support enriching our historic friendship through concrete partnerships, establishing regular high-level contacts, and expanding joint projects.”
Noting that cooperation within international organizations was also discussed, Saidov said, “We attached special importance to cooperation and mutual support within international organizations, including the Non-Aligned Movement, the United Nations, and other multilateral platforms.”
Stating that the parties also exchanged views on regional and international developments, Saidov added, “We focused in particular on the evolving situation in the Middle East. We emphasized the importance of restraint, dialogue, and diplomatic engagement to ensure stability and prevent further escalation.”
