Sanchez condemns attack on UN peacekeeping force in Lebanon
Madrid, March 30 (Hibya) - Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez reacted to the killing of a United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) soldier.
Prime Minister Sanchez stated that a new red line had been crossed in Lebanon, where an attack resulted in the death of a UN peacekeeping soldier and injured three others.
Emphasizing that Spain strongly condemns these events, Sanchez said: "We demand clarification of the source of the bullet. We also call on the Israeli government to halt the hostilities."
Sanchez underlined that attacks on UN peace missions are unacceptable to the entire international community, adding: "We extend our deepest condolences to the family of the fallen soldier and to the personnel of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon."
