Sanchez: Spain belongs to those who love it and work for it
Madrid, July 12 (Hibya) - Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez criticized racist rhetoric, saying that belonging should be measured not by one's origin or skin color, but by commitment to and contribution to the country.
Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez said that while some people measure belonging by surname, birthplace or skin color, his government measures it by commitment to the country and the willingness to contribute to it.
Prime Minister Sanchez said: "Spain belongs to those who love it and work for it, not to those who disgrace it with xenophobic statements."
Referring to the upcoming semifinal against France, Sanchez added: "France, see you in the semifinal. May the best team win, and may racism lose."
