Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez stated that individuals who disguise their theories with a scientific veneer to legitimize hatred, oppression, and inequality cannot be honored by a democratic state, announcing that the Grand Cross of the Civil Health Order awarded to Franco-era psychiatrist Antonio Vallejo-Najera will be revoked.

Highlighting the irreconcilable contradiction between the fundamental principles of democracy and hate speech, Sanchez said, "No democracy can honor someone who disguises their theories as science to legitimize hatred, oppression, and inequality."

Announcing the government's concrete legal step on the matter, Prime Minister Sanchez concluded: "Therefore, at the next Cabinet meeting, we will proceed with revoking the Grand Cross of the Civil Health Order from Antonio Vallejo-Najera."
