Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, who issued a congratulatory message on the occasion of Türkiye's Victory Day, said that the victory achieved under the leadership of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk laid the foundations of modern Türkiye and that Pakistan shares the Turkish people's rightful pride.

Extending his best wishes to President Erdoğan and the Turkish people, Sharif said, "On the occasion of Victory Day, I extend my warmest congratulations to my dear brother President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the Government, and the brotherly people of the Republic of Türkiye."

Emphasizing modern Türkiye, Sharif said, "August 30 commemorates the historic victory achieved under the leadership of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, which laid the foundations of the modern Republic of Türkiye. Pakistan joins its Turkish brothers in honoring this proud legacy of courage and national resolve."

Drawing attention to the ties and strategic partnership between the two countries, Sharif said, "The bonds between Pakistan and Türkiye are ties of the heart, shaped over centuries by shared faith, history and struggle. Today, our two nations, together with the brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, have reaffirmed the strategic expression of this enduring brotherhood through the Makkah Joint Defense Agreement, which binds our nations together in our pursuit of common security and collective deterrence."

Referring to Pakistan's resolve in bilateral relations, Sharif said, "Pakistan remains steadfast in its commitment to further deepen its strategic partnership with Türkiye across all fields for the shared prosperity and security of our two nations."

Sharif concluded his statement by saying, "We wish for the deep bonds of friendship and brotherhood between Pakistan and Türkiye to continue flourishing for generations to come."
