According to CCTV, Thulani Kunene, Deputy Chairperson of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature Committees, stated that with the newly signed framework agreement, South African exports will gain duty-free access to the Chinese market.

Kunene emphasized that they aim to benefit from China’s technological expertise and that the young population will gain education and entrepreneurship opportunities in this process.

Highlighting logistics infrastructure, Kunene noted that despite the distance between the two regions, ports such as Johannesburg, Durban, and Richards Bay, along with an advanced road network, facilitate trade.

Kunene said, "We believe that our relationship can move us forward in terms of mutual benefit. We can benefit from technological developments coming from China, and we think we have resources, a young population ready to learn, and willing entrepreneurs."
