In a statement following the unanimous decision of all 27 member states, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha emphasized Brussels' commitment to the enlargement process and thanked the institutions supporting Ukraine.

Referring to this step in the negotiation process, Sybiha said, "An important milestone in Ukraine's EU accession process was reached today; all 27 EU member states unanimously approved the European Union's position on Negotiation Cluster 1 at the COREPER meeting."

Expressing his gratitude, Sybiha stated, "I am grateful to the Presidency of the Council of the EU, the European Commission, and all EU member states for their leadership, unity, and continued support for Ukraine's accession to the European Union."

Sybiha noted that his country's efforts to align with EU standards are being recognized and concluded his message by saying, "This decision acknowledges Ukraine's reform efforts and demonstrates the EU's commitment to a credible and merit-based enlargement process."
