Trump: Meloni’s popularity in Italy is quite low
Washington, June 20 (Hibya) - United States (US) President Donald Trump commented on Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and US-Italy relations.
US President Donald Trump claimed that during the G7 Summit held in France, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni wanted to take photos with him on more than one occasion.
Arguing that Italy had not provided sufficient support for some US military operations, Trump nevertheless stated that the United States makes significant contributions to the security of Italy and other NATO allies.
Trump said he supports US policies regarding Iran and criticized the Washington administration’s relations with Italy.
Referring to Meloni’s stance in his remarks, Trump noted that there are differing approaches regarding relations with the United States.
