Trump: The strait will remain tightly closed until Iran makes a deal
Washington, April 23 (Hibya) – U.S. President Donald Trump spoke about Iran’s internal political situation and military control in the Strait of Hormuz, stating that control in the region is entirely in the hands of the U.S. Navy.
U.S. President Donald Trump highlighted divisions within the Iranian leadership, emphasizing that passage through the Strait of Hormuz will remain subject to U.S. approval until an agreement is reached.
Referring to divisions within the Iranian government, Trump said: “Iran is having a very hard time figuring out who its leader is! They really don’t know! The internal conflict between the ‘hardliners’ who have suffered major defeats on the battlefield and the ‘moderates’ who are not really moderate but gain respect is crazy.”
Delivering a firm message on the operational situation in the Strait of Hormuz, Trump stated: “Control of the Strait of Hormuz is completely in our hands. No ship can enter or leave without the approval of the United States Navy. Until Iran makes a deal, the strait is ‘tightly closed’!”
President Trump concluded his remarks by saying, “Thank you for your attention to this matter.”
