Emphasizing that natural resources should be used for the benefit of the people, Türk said: "Sudan's vast natural resources should benefit its people. Instead, they are being exploited to fuel conflict and undermine human rights."
Referring to the legal obligations of international commercial actors, Türk stated: "Companies dealing with Sudanese products must conduct rigorous due diligence to comply with international law."
