According to CCTV, Stephane Dujarric, spokesperson for UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, stated that the UN is working through its country team in Cuba to provide every possible form of support to the island's population.

Dujarric recalled that, despite years of United Nations General Assembly votes calling for an end to the embargo, the restrictions remain in force. He stressed that Secretary-General Guterres is closely monitoring the humanitarian situation in Cuba.

Dujarric said: "We are working on the ground with our country team and are doing our utmost to support the Cuban people during this difficult time."
