Van Weel: I will hand over my duties next week
Amsterdam, February 20 (Hibya) - Dutch Foreign Minister David van Weel announced that his term in office will come to an end and wished success to his successor, Tom Berendsen.
Dutch Foreign Minister David van Weel stated that he is preparing to hand over his duties at a time of increasing geopolitical tensions.
Referring to the challenges faced during his tenure, Van Weel said, “At a time of geopolitical tensions, I worked with many people in The Hague and beyond on issues of peace and security. I am grateful for this trust. I will hand over my duties next week.”
Van Weel also extended his best wishes to Tom Berendsen, who will take over the foreign minister’s post, saying, “I wish Tom Berendsen success in continuing this important work.”
