WHO: EMTs are a lifeline in Gaza’s health emergency
Geneva, June 12 (Hibya) – The World Health Organization (WHO) stated that Emergency Medical Teams (EMTs) are a lifeline in Gaza’s health emergency.
In a statement, the WHO said that the ongoing hostilities in the Gaza Strip have placed immense strain on an already fragile health system, with shortages of medical supplies, attacks, damaged infrastructure, and insecurity hindering access to essential health services.
The statement noted that EMTs, supported and coordinated by WHO, are at the forefront of the health response:
“These teams, operating under extremely difficult conditions, continue to deliver high-quality care to those most in need. EMTs are a lifeline in Gaza’s health emergency. However, unless urgent improvements in access and protection are made, their ability to save lives will be severely jeopardized.”
