Yermak: Russia and Iran are two terrorist regimes fueling the war
Kyiv, July 31 (Hibya) – Head of the Ukrainian Presidential Office, Andriy Yermak, announced that the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s OFAC launched on July 30, 2025, the largest Iran-related sanctions operation since 2018.
In his statement, Yermak noted that the operation targets over 50 individuals, entities, and vessels involved in the transport of Russian oil and the facilitation of arms transfers between Russia and Iran.
“This massive shipping empire now under sanctions plays a crucial role in transporting both Iranian and Russian oil,” said Yermak, adding:
“Sanctioning Iran’s tanker fleet also harms Russia, disrupting one of the Kremlin’s most important backdoor oil routes. Russia and Iran are two terrorist regimes that break the rules, fuel the war, and are now paying the price.”
