Zelenski: This event represents much more
Kyiv, September 19 (Hibya) – Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski announced that the All-Ukrainian Hand-to-Hand Combat Cup brought together 127 athletes from eleven institutions, including military units, law enforcement agencies and emergency services.
Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski commented on the All-Ukrainian Hand-to-Hand Combat Cup held today.
Zelenski said the tournament is an activity that helps improve the skills of those who defend the country, its people and its values.
Pointing out that competitions were also organized for veterans and wounded fighters for the first time this year, Zelenski said: “It is especially important that, for the first time this year, competitions were also organized for veterans and wounded fighters.”
Zelenski emphasized that the event is not merely a sporting competition, saying: “This event represents much more: strength of character, the ability to get back on one’s feet and keep moving forward, and the unwavering resilience and will of Ukrainians that enable us to live and fight.”
Zelenski concluded his statement by thanking the participants in the tournament.
