Zelensky meets Swiss President Parmelin
Kyiv, January 22 (Hibya) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that during his first meeting with Swiss President Guy Parmelin, they discussed attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure and ongoing repair efforts.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met with Swiss President Guy Parmelin to review cooperation between the two countries and the latest developments in Ukraine.
Providing details of the meeting, Zelensky drew attention to Russia’s operations targeting strategic infrastructure, saying: “I held my first meeting with Swiss President Guy Parmelin. I informed him about the situation in Ukraine amid Russia’s ongoing attacks on energy facilities and the truly heroic, round-the-clock work of our repair teams.”
Speaking about energy security and financial support, Zelensky said: “We discussed the possibility of an additional Swiss contribution to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund. We also addressed diplomatic efforts aimed at achieving a dignified peace and the importance of strengthening sanctions against Russia.”
At the end of his statement, Zelensky expressed satisfaction with Switzerland’s stance, stating: “I thank Switzerland for its unwavering support for Ukraine.”
