Zelensky orders acceleration of Kyiv's resilience plan
Kyiv, October 13 (Hibya) - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that he had begun consultations to address security problems causing electricity and water outages in Kyiv, accelerate the city's resilience plan and increase support for residents.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said new security and administrative measures were being considered to protect Kyiv's energy and critical infrastructure and strengthen the city's resilience against potential attacks.
Zelensky stated that yesterday's meeting reviewed the implementation of resilience plans prepared for cities and regions. He noted that, as of mid-October, almost all parts of the country, including border regions and areas near the front line, had made greater progress in implementing these plans than Kyiv.
Zelensky said that even attacks involving a limited number of Shahed-type drones could cause electricity and water outages across large parts of the capital. "Kyiv residents certainly feel this," he said.
Zelensky announced that he had begun consultations on urgent security and administrative measures to improve the situation in the city, accelerate implementation of the resilience plan and increase support for residents. He said he had spoken with representatives of the security sector, business community and local authorities, including Vasyl Maliuk, Ivan Fedorov, Ihor Terekhov, Kostiantyn Yefimenko and Maksym Yefimov.
Zelensky reported that important proposals had emerged during the discussions and that further meetings were planned.
Emphasizing the need to implement decisions swiftly and remain prepared for all security threats, Zelensky said decisions were being prepared on protecting Kyiv's energy facilities and critical infrastructure, coordinating with the government and military, addressing residents' needs and improving city administration processes.
Zelensky thanked local communities and business representatives who were ready to support the capital.
