Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that 14 people were injured in attacks he said Russia carried out overnight, while two people were killed in Zaporizhzhia.

Zelensky said numerous residential buildings in Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia, and the Odesa, Sumy and Kharkiv regions were targeted in the attacks.

Zelensky said civilian infrastructure was also damaged in the attacks, including a kindergarten in Kyiv, a high school in the Kyiv region, a university in Kharkiv, and energy infrastructure in the Poltava, Mykolaiv and Vinnytsia regions.

Offering condolences to the families and relatives of those killed in Zaporizhzhia, Zelensky said, “Russia is escalating tensions every day. If the Russians have chosen to make their attacks even more brutal, the world must choose stronger responses to prevent the war from spreading further.”

Zelensky called on US President Donald Trump to implement the Lindsey Graham Act against Russia and those financially supporting the war, and also asked European Council President António Costa and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen to impose additional sanctions.

Zelensky also called on leaders not to remove Russian oligarchs from existing sanctions lists and to maintain trade restrictions until Russia ends the war.

Zelensky said peace must be brought closer every day through joint efforts.
