Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky visited a maternity hospital damaged in a Russian missile attack on Kyiv.

Zelensky said a baby named Kyrylo was born in the hospital's shelter on the night of the attack, adding that he came to the hospital today to congratulate families, meet women preparing to give birth and support healthcare workers.

Zelensky said, “I thank all the staff of the maternity hospital for their work, their support and for staying by people's side even during attacks like these.”

Thanking mothers who continue to remain in Ukraine with their families and children, Zelensky said, “Every one of you deserves to give birth to your child in peace, without sirens or explosions. And every newborn deserves to begin life in peace.”

Zelensky said they were doing everything they could to make this possible and aimed to achieve it as soon as possible.
