Bermudez: President Trump aims to choke Cuba’s economy
Havana, Jan. 30 (Hibya) – Cuban President Miguel Mario Díaz-Canel Bermudez said in a statement regarding United States (U.S.) President Donald Trump, “Trump aims to choke Cuba’s economy.”
Cuban President Bermudez said that, under a “false and hollow” pretext, this move—marketed by those who profit politically and financially from the suffering of the Cuban people—aims to choke Cuba’s economy by imposing tariffs on countries that trade oil with Cuba of their own sovereign will.
Bermudez said: “This new measure clearly reveals the fascist, criminal, and genocidal character displayed by a clique that takes the interests of the American people hostage for purely personal purposes.”
